I had the entire year to prepare, and even then I somehow couldn't get my thoughts in order. I'm terribly spontaneous when it comes to writing you can't force these things so apparently my collective wit and intelligence can't be tamed so easily as by setting rigid goals as these.
So what's been happening this year, I hear you ask with great anticipation? A number of interesting things, I reply with a coy sort of smirk that infuriates your eager and impatient temperament.
The share house with Paul I mentioned in late 2008 lasted a grand total of four or so months before he moved out to go to Sydney. I adopted a German housemate named Hanni who stayed for another four or so months before moving back to Germany. Having gone through two housemates (and unfortunately being mere months off the expiration of the lease,) I decided to break lease and move back home with the olds.
Freelance work has been fluctuatious, with ups and downs and side projects galore. Right now it's good, but a few months back there it was terrible. I may have myself a real life 9-5 job lined up, but it's in a tenuous spot. I'm nevertheless hopeful for the future.
I started another blog recently, spawned from the fetid ashes of my techtoucian.net site which I deliberately let lapse into spamdom. This time around it's an intelligent look at web standards and practise, and the Internet ecosystem. Yes, that's a rather wanky description, but it describes what my new site's about in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way. It's intended to complement my still incomplete business site, and it does so with flair and grace.
I've also started the momentous task of uploading, tagging, categorising my photo collection to Flickr. It's a new development, but I'm working on it.
I've also been using Deviantart a little more than usual this year. I deleted a lot of my old stuff that was especially not very good, and started uploading some of my icon work in particular. DA gets a lot of flack for being a haven of terrible fanart, but uhm. I still like it. I'm not here in a professional capacity.
I think that's probably about it for now. I'll make sure I'm on time for next year's article.

I might be moving soon...I find out tomorrow or in the next few days whether we get the house or not. Anyway talk to u later
